MENA-LatAm: Bridging strategic ties

MENA Outlook Quarterly
MENA LATAM

As we enter 2021, we are cautiously optimistic. The new virus mutation underscores the precarious nature of the crisis, but promising news on the development and deployment of vaccines is expected to accelerate the timeline for containment. In our Q1 2021 report, we explore:

  • The uneven green shoots across the MENA region, with larger economies such as Egypt and part of the GCC set to recover more rapidly.
  • The long-lasting impact of the Arab Spring on the region ten years on, as some countries such as Libya, Lebanon and Syria drift sideways.
  • The relations between LatAm and the MENA region, which now extend beyond the large Arab diaspora in LatAm to include pockets of opportunity brought on by COVID-19.
