Head of Business Development

This is a senior role developing and implementing the strategy for driving revenue at a leading independent economic research company. As Head of Business Development, you will oversee daily operations and lead the sales team. Your responsibility will be to ensure team-wide sales targets are achieved and exceeded by utilising your business development and team management skills. This role requires significant experiences in corporate publication/subscription sales for a research company, think tank or similar. You will be joining a driven, expanding team, working from our Central London office.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will be responsible for leading and implementing both new and existing sales strategies, supervising the sales team to ensure monthly, quarterly and annual KPIs are achieved.
  • Manage the entire sales team and business cycle from prospecting through to closing opportunities
  • Consistently qualify, generate, and execute on opportunities that provide profitable revenue to the company.
  • Consistently build an effective pipeline and execute on each phase of the sales process.
  • Prepare regular sales reports including activity, pipeline, sales invoiced as well as monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts
  • Incorporate knowledge of our research products and services, the clients, and key competitors into the sales process and use that knowledge to uncover customer needs and create value-based proposals.
  • Take ownership from day one as if it were your own business by constantly improving on activity and conversion

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5 + years sales experience in corporate publication/subscription/research
  • Proven track record of successfully selling research products to senior executives
  • Experience in building, managing and developing a sales team
  • Experience in reporting sales figures, development plans and improvements to CEO
  • Confident negotiator and ability to close deals
  • Strong client management skills
  • Motivated self-starter.
  • An understanding of economics, geopolitics and MENA is a distinct advantage
  • Must have native command of English
